Skincare: Zit Alors!

What’s your acne emergency procedure? Panic? Flail? Cancel all appointments? Hide in the shadows?

No matter how perfect your skin, you probably still get pimples once in a while. Fortunately there are a lot of products that address them specifically. But I guess that’s a problem too. There are so many products. Which one works for you?

I tried the Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions line, but I found that using all those products in one routine is too much for my skin. Since I started paying better attention to my skin this year, I’ve gotten better at figuring out what works. I still get pimples, or course. No matter how awesome the Korean skincare products are, there are still some things beyond their power: stress, pollution, lack of sleep, fluctuating hormones.

So here’s what works for me:

1. Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions Acne Cleansing Gel

If I use this, I follow it up with CosRX Galactomyces Alcohol-Free Toner.

2. Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions Acne Spot Corrector Gel

This is useful for keeping pimples from turning into giant radioactive eyesores.

3. Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions Oil Control Toner

I use this when I wash my face with a mild cleanser like the Human Nature Nourishing Facial Wash.

4. CosRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

Use this after cleansing and drying your face. The skin MUST BE DRY when you apply the patch–no toner or anything! Otherwise the patch won’t stick.

This blog post (don’t click if you’re easily grossed out) has photos and a detailed review which matches my experience with it.

5. Céleteque Dermoscience™ Acne Solutions Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel

If my pimples are small and close together, and they don’t look too bad, I skip the patch and the corrector gel, and I just end my evening skincare routine with this. It helps dry out the pimples, so I wake up with less oil on my face and smaller zits.

Ever since I started my skincare routine, my pimples seem to disappear faster, and leave smaller, less noticeable marks on my face. So yeah, this stuff works! (for me, at least!)
