If you don’t know where you want to go, or what you want to see in Bangkok, the Hop-On Hop-Off Bus is a good option!

I booked 24-hour passes for me and Lucas, for the bus tour. There were 15 stops, and we could get on or off the bus any number of times during the time our passes were valid. I wasn’t always sure how to get from one place or another, so it seemed like a good way to get around, while seeing more of the city as we traveled.

I wasn’t sure where the bus stop was at IconSiam, the mall near us. I also wasn’t sure if we would be allowed to first board the bus at any point. So we went to Siam Paragon, since I had seen the bus stop and booth there a few days earlier.

I thought it was really nice because we were comfortable, and we could see where we were going. It was a double decker bus, so we sat on the second level and only went back down when we were nearing our stop. We we were able to get quick looks at other tourist spots that we didn’t really want to spend a whole day on, or were curious about but hadn’t scheduled.

We got down at Grand China Hotel, but didn’t really look around because we were hungry! We got to see the Royal Grand Palace from the bus. We also saw Khao San Road, which is apparently where you find all the marijuana shops.

Honestly, I don’t remember the names of all the places we saw!

We used the bus to go to Wat Po, where a TukTuk driver told me that I looked like a local.

We got to see streets and views and buildings that we probably wouldn’t have noticed if we were wandering on our own.

At the end of our day, we just got down at IconSiam and headed back to our hotel, tired but happy.
