Most travel guides will name two temples that you have to see in Bangkok: Wat Po, and Wat Arun.
We took the train to Saphan Taksin BTS station, and from there we took a boat (above) that went to Wat Arun.

These crocodiles greeted us upon entry (below).

As with Wat Po, Lucas was awed by the beautiful structures around us. Dutifully he took off his hat and his sandals every time we entered a temple to pay respects to Buddha.
One thing I noticed was that while Bangkok was hot and humid like Manila, it seemed much hotter around the temples because there were not many trees. There were also many reflective surfaces on the structures, so the light and heat from the sun seemed to bounce off everything.
There also seemed to be more statues here, compared to Wat Po.

And of course, my goofball son had to pose with them.

Meanwhile, I loved the gorgeous flowers.

If you’re going to Wat Arun, make sure to bring water and a hat. A portable fan is a good idea too. Wear footwear you can easily remove, and light breathable clothing, but make sure your shoulders, chest and knees are covered. It get very bright and hot!
